Agosto 22, 2019, Daet, Camarines Norte – Pinaboran ng Solicitor General ang petisyon ni Gov. Egay Tallado na nagsasabing nagkaroon ng term interruption sa kaniyang panunungkulankung kaya kwalipikado pa din umano itong tumakbo sa nakalipas na May 2019 elections.

Sa ibinabang Manifestation and Motion ni Solicitor General Jose C. Calida sinabi nito na hindi napagsilbihan ng buo ng gobernador ang kanyang ikatlong termino (2016-2019) kaya siya ay kwalipikadong tumakbo sa 2019 National and Local Elections ayon na din sa naging desisyon ng Ombudsman.

Nakalapaloob ito sa pahina 18 ng naturang Manifestation and Motion:

“To stress the petitioner’s removal from office pursuant to the implementation of the Ombudsman’s decisions are considered term interruption because he did not continue to stay in office and was barred from exercising the functions and prerogatives of the office. Such involuntary severance from office is an interruption of continuity of service. Having involuntarily lost title to his office, the petitioner is deemed not to have fully served his term as Governor of Camarines Norte and thus eligilble to run in the 2019 elections.”

Kaugnay nito, binigyan ng labinlimang (15) araw ng Solicitor General ang COMELEC upang magpaliwanag tungkol sa nauna ng  ibinabang mga resolusyon na nagsasabing hindi kwalipikadong tumakbo si Tallado nitong nakatalikod na May 2019 elections. Aniya, nagkaroon dito ng matinding pag abuso sa kapangyarihan ang COMELEC.

Nilagdaan ni Solicitor General Calida ang dalawampung(20) pahinang Manifestation and Motion nitong nakatalikod na Agosto 13, 2019.
