DAET INTERNATIONAL AEROSPORTS SHOW BAGASBAS BEACH FESTIVAL

             The successful 2nd Daet International Aerosports Show and Bagasbas Beach Festival was held last March 27-30, 2014 at Bagasbas Beach, Daet Camarines Norte. This four day event was a joint effort of the Municipal Government of Daet, Bagasbas Beach Development Council, Philippine Paragliding and Hang-gliding Association and Mikes Kites.

            It started with a motorcade of the participants starting from the Daet Municipal Building all the way to Bagasbas Beach where the opening program was held in front of the Bagasbas Beach Light House. Beauty and wellness guru and TV host Cory Quirino formally opened the Aerosports Show. Local and foreign tourists enjoyed the different aerosports activities like the exhibition flying and paragliding tandem where some of them got to experienced actual flying with a professional pilot. They also experienced aerobics at the beach and surfing lessons. Of course, any summer beach activity is not complete without Beach Party and Bikini Open highlighted by the repeat performance of the Pinyasan Street Dancers who won second place in Magayon Festival, Legaspi City.

            Aside from fun and cool beach happenings, there were side activities held that cater to other outdoor enthusiasts like the seminar on Basic Mountaineering Course conducted by ORYOL outdoor group, Disaster Risk Reduction Awareness: Climate Change Adaptation by BE COOL (Bicol Ecological Camp On Outdoor Leadership) and a talk on Green Technology conducted by Illac Diaz, a multi-awarded social entrepreneur and former movie actor nephew of Ms. Gloria Diaz.

            The festivities ended with a closing ceremony where Mr. Illac Diaz demonstrated his solar powered light bulb that can help in saving energy and a speech by Mayor Tito S. Sarion, the visionary Mayor of Daet, thanking all the guests and participants for their support.
