A three-day Information, Communication and Technology Conference is slated to commence on May 28, 2014, in Daet town, as Mayor Tito Sarion continues to play the trailblazer in his pursuit to establish the municipality as one of the exemplars in Bicolandia, in utilizing ICT’s effectiveness in modern local governance.
“It is of utmost importance for the LGU to actively respond to the availability of up-to-date technology and means,” Mayor Sarion said. “It is an essential component to ensure that the services of the government to its constituents are being addressed efficiently, as well as productively.”
The conference “will bring to the fore the major stakeholders in local governance: the business sector, academe, media, youth and civil society organizations to [consort] with the local government unit in crafting beneficial ICT programs for its constituents.”
It will also feature the launching of Daet on the Dot, the digital marketing arm of the LGU, and the creation of an ICT council.
Expected to partake as speakers in the three-day event are Secretary Armin Luistro, Department of Education; Representative Sherwin T. Gatchalian, 1st District of Valenzuela City; and Monchito B. Ibrahim, Deputy Executive Director of Department of Science and Technology-ICTO.
