Labo, Camarines Norte (Pebrero 13, 2014) –Naga City Montessori of CamSur bested Lewis College of Sorsogon, 69-66, to earn the coveted right to represent the Bicol Region in the upcoming National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) secondary schools’ league this March in Metro Manila.
The host province of CamNorte’s bet, Batobalani National High School, finished as cellar dwellers after suffering back-to-back setbacks in the knock out system, four-team tilt held at Labo Sports Complex, in Labo town which concluded yesterday.
Eventual champs Naga City Montessori, meanwhile, easily disposed of St. Agnes Academy of Albay in the opening salvo before edging Lewis College in the championship game.
The NBTC league is a “grassroots based sports program which aims to serve as training ground for young players to improve their skills” staged annually in different regions of the country.
