LGU DAET OFFICIALS URGE CONSTITUENTS TO STRICTLY FOLLOW HEALTH PROTOCOLS AMID RISE IN COVID19 CASES IN TOWN

The officials of Local Government Unit of Daet headed by Mayor Benito “B2K” Ochoa urged their constituents to strictly observe minimum public health standards as the town recorded an increase in the number of Covid 19 active cases.

According to the latest Covid 19 Briefer released as of 3:00pm today, January 12, 2022 by Daet Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Daet Incident Management Team (IMT), the number of active cases in town leaped from 111 yesterday to 138 today.

Of the new positive cases, 1 was confirmed by  Real Time – Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT- PCR) while 26 were tested via Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and are still waiting for confirmation.

This brings the total number of recorded cases in Daet to 1091 with 138 active cases (38 RTPCR, 100 RAT), 993 recoveries (from 2020 to present) and 60 deaths (from 2020 to present).

Meanwhile, the LGU officials reiterated the importance of diligently following minimum health protocols such as wearing of face masks, physical or social distancing and regular cleaning and disinfection within of premises within communities.

Moreover, mass gatherings and eating in large groups in communal areas are still discouraged to avoid possible spread of the virus.
