BARANGAY BORABOD IS THE PILOT BARANGAY FOR THE WASTE PROCESSING TO BE IMPLEMENTED IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF DAET

DAET, CAMARINES NORTE — The Local Government Unit (LGU) Daet will be implementing a new program for Solid Waste Management called Waste Processing and they have chosen Barangay Borabod as the pilot barangay for this program.

This is because of Barangay Borabod’s best practices in managing and handling their solid waste management among other barangays in Daet, such as having Material Recovery Facility (MRF), proper management of waste segregation, and consistent coordination to the residents of the barangay regarding waste management through cluster leader each purok.

Waste Processing aims to make use of the segregated wastes into something useful like plastics and bottles which can be recycled and be used as bricks. Meanwhile, kitchen wastes can be one of the ingredients of organic fertilizer to be distributed to the farmers.

The JFGR Trading will help Barangay Borabod by giving them equipment like composting machines and conducting training on how to operate it.

Barangay Borabod was personally visited by Municipal Administrator Joan Kristine T. De Luna and MENRO Solid Waste Management Division Head together with Mr. Rene A. Rosales kasama si Mr. Jun Gumabon of JFGR Trading to discuss about Solid Waste Management.

The Barangay Council’s positive feedback regarding this idea and plan of LGU Daet in Waste Processing results in a good start in the LGU’s goal to manage the solid waste in the municipality well.
