The Local Government Unit (LGU) Daet that the Municipality recorded no application of loans for the Municipality since Mayor Benito S. Ochoa’s administration.
On Tuesday morning, January 18, 2022, during the awarding of Top Performing Business Establishment for the year 2021, LGU Daet Municipal Administrator, Ms. Joan Kristine T. De Luna gave recognition to the business establishments present in the event for their commitment to their revenue contribution to the local government.
De Luna proudly stated that these contributions have also helped LGU Daet to rank at top 6 in the first- and second-class municipalities nationwide.
She emphasized that since Mayor Ochoa’s administration, LGU Daet hasn’t applied for any loans for the project and programs of the local government. The municipality has already settled most of the existing loans and is on its way to clearing the outstanding loan balances from the previous administrations.
According to her, the businesses in the municipality and their commitment to their revenue contribution have a big role in settling these loans and for the LGU to implement various projects and programs in different sectors.
Some of these programs are the following: pioneering a cash incentive amounting to Php20,000.00 for senior citizens aged 90 years old and above; LGU Daet has the largest numbers of scholars in the province; incentives given to Barangay Health Workers and Day Care Center Workers and many more.
Moreover, Mun. Administrator De Luna also shared that amidst the COVID-19 situation and being a municipality with the most number of virus-infected individuals, LGU Daet still tops among other municipalities in COVID-19 response and handling the situation.
