Hundreds of children around Daet are to receive joy through toys and bears after the Local Government of Daet through its Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) was chosen as beneficiary of the Share a Toy and Bear Project by the SM Supermalls – Daet.
The project, dubbed as Share a Toy and Bears of Joy are long-running special projects of SM Supermalls where mall shoppers may purchase a pair of plush bears and toys – one of which they keep and the other to give for donation to the less privileged children in the community or to a chosen beneficiary.
SM Daet through Ms.Joyce Estanislao – BCO Manager, Jane Rose Panong- Gift Registry Advisor, Mavic Obog- Customer Service Supervisor, Jenel Pariñas- Facilities Management Services Manager successfully turned over the toys and bears to the LGU Daet.
Present in the turn-over were Mr. Normanuel Eboña – Daet MSWD Officer, Councilor and Chairman of Committee on Social Services Eliza H. Llovit, Marco Paulo Delfinado – Proj. Devt Officer / Municipal Librarian and Municipal Information Officer Joan Dela Fuente.
These toys will be distributed by the MSWDO to identified less fortunate children around the municipality.
It is said that giving a toy is a simple gesture yet has a big impact in child’s development. Teddy bear is said to be the first best friend in childhood and the first toy that teaches a child how to stay happy in every situation hence the objective of the said project.
