Amid the rise in active cases of Covid 19 infections in the province, Provincial Health Office (PHO) assures the public that hospitals have enough beds and facilities to accommodate Covid patients as of the moment.
Acting PHO Officer Dr. Arnel Francisco said in an interview today, January 19, 2022 that the province’s healthcare utilization rate is 35.5% , setting it at a low risk level.
According to Dr. Francisco, out of the 172 beds allotted by the Department of Health for Covid positive patients, only 62 of it are occupied.
He even assured the public that the Camarines Norte Provincial Hospital has available beds despite the surge of Covid 19 infection in the province these past few days.
He stated that this was due to the strategies being conducted by the PHO wherein mild and asymptomatic Covid patients were not confined at the hospitals but were isolated and treated at Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facilities (TTMF) of their corresponding Local Government Units (LGU).
The acting PHO added that Covid patients who got confined are not required to finish the isolation period at hospitals since they can be transferred to a TTMF for monitoring and quarantine whenever they are allowed by the doctors.
However, despite the adequate hospital bed capacity, Francisco appealed anew to the public to continue to follow health protocols and protect themselves from acquiring the infection.
