“WE WILL NOT IMPLEMENT ACADEMIC BREAK” -DEPED CAMARINES NORTE ON THE PROVINCE’S ALERT LEVEL 3 STATUS DUE TO COVID-19

According to the Camarines Norte Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Nympha D. Guemo, DepEd Camarines Norte will not be implementing academic break amidst the Alert Level 3 status of the province due to COVID-19.

In an interview, Dr. Guemo stated that it is not necessary to implement academic break since the students are not required to go to schools and has been staying at home since the pandemic started to practice distancing as one of health protocols against the virus.

However, if the Local Government Unit (LGU) will declare academic break, DepEd Camarines Norte will submit a report to their higher office to be guided accordingly.

Guemo added that the DepEd Regional Office can actually decide regarding classes suspension but will not be more than two weeks within month of January.

Meanwhile, Alliance of Concerned Teachers plead last week to the higher office to declare a two-week “health break” due to the Alert Level 3 status of the province in COVID-19.
