Camarines Norte electoral bets joined the entire nation in raising awareness for orderly, honest, peaceful and credible elections year through a unity walk, interfaith rally and covenant signing held at the Agro Sports Center, Friday February 18, 2022
The event which highlighted the launching of safe “KASIMBAYAN” (Kawani, Simbahan at Pamayanan) gathered hundreds of candidates gunning for various posts in the coming May 2022 elections from the whole province all pledging for a secure, accurate, free and fair elections.



They were joined together by officers and staffs from Provincial Commission on Elections (Comelec) headed by Election Office Atty. Noriel Badiola, Philippine National Police (PNP) headed by Provincial Director PCol Julius D. Guadamor, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) 902nd IB/91D Col Edmundo Peralta, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) headed by PD Ray B. Caceres and other stakeholders.
Present also in the said activities is Most Reverend Rex Andrew Alarcon, Bishop, Diocese of Daet.
The participants started the unity walk from the Provincial Capitol grounds towards downtown Daet and back to the Agro Sports Center for the continuation of the activities.





In the covenant or integrity pledge, candidates committed not to “employ any form of violence, force or threat that may impair, impede or unduly influence the exercise of the people’s right of suffrage”.
They also pledged the “prompt and accurate reporting and disclosure of campaign-related expenses” and “will not give bribes or gifts to corrupt the integrity of our democratic process”.
The candidates also committed to fight discrimination in all forms, promote gender sensitivity and not tolerate any form of violence against women in politics.
THE 150-day election period, which prescribes the calendar of activities and period of prohibited acts leading to the conduct of the upcoming May 9, 2022 national and local elections, started January 9, 2022.
Under Commission on Elections (Comelec) Resolution 10695, the election period will be from January 9 to June 8.
