To prevent the possible transmission of coronavirus and assure everyone’s safety, health workers who volunteered in the recent local and national elections will undergo surveillance tests for COVID-19.
According to Provincial Health Officer Dr. Arnel Francisco, based on the result of the first batch of health workers who got tested, 40 health workers were tested negative for the virus.
Teachers who served on Electoral Board are not covered in PHO’s surveillance testing but the Department of Education (DepEd) can make a request if necessary.
Results will be available after two weeks of testing.
Meanwhile, one week after the election and there has been no COVID-19 positive tested in the province.
