Erwin Totanes Oning or most popularly known as Kleng, is indeed someone we can always name when it comes to beauty industry not just here in Camarines Norte but all over the Philippines.
Kleng is equipped with ambition, talent and faith. Before his name became so resounding in the industry, he experienced to work abroad in a corporate company but still pursued his passion in make-up and was able to be noticed by professional artists because of his excellent works.
When he went back to the Philippines, his passion for beauty enhancement became bigger as he got the chance to work and collaborate with country’s big stars and people behind successful fashion shows and beauty pageants.
KLENG IN WORKING AND COLLABORATING WITH THE STARS:
With all the famous people Kleng worked with, he can say that all of them are his favorites. “Lahat ng nagtitiwala sa craft ko , favorite kong gawin” he said.
Collaborating and glamming up stars despite of their fame don’t give Kleng intimidation because he is happy with what he is doing.
According to him, showing intimidation to clients will make the clients feel uncomfortable that is why he always make sure to give the best service and experience whenever he glams up anyone, not just the famous ones but everyone who trusts his crafts.
Considering the privilege to be known in the beauty industry and one of the well-respected artists, Kleng remains his feet on the ground.
For Kleng, the satisfaction that comes from using makeup to help people look their best or become characters far different from their usual selves is priceless and very self-fulfilling.
Being a makeup artist requires long hours, mostly on his feet, requiring both stamina and fitness plus patience, and is quite challenging. The job can be stressful at times, too, with early morning travels for photo shoots and late evening shows. But Kleng firmly believes that “if it is your passion that you follow and you love what you do, you will never work a single day in your life.”
As he continues to create his own name in the industry and receives various recognition he never let success go into his head, he believes in the importance of finding creative ways to share the credit and pull other people up the ladder of success along with him. Treat everyone with dignity and respect.
Indeed, it is Camarines Norte’s pride to have someone like Kleng Totanes that can represent the name of our province in the beauty industry among the stars in the country.
