Sixty-seven (67) deaths were recorded in the Municipality of Daet according to the Provincial Health Office (PHO) as of September 9, 2022, making it the municipality with the highest number of deaths because of COVID-19.
This is followed by Labo with 46 deaths, Talisay with 23, Mercedes with 21, and, Basud and Jose Panganiban verified 20 deaths.
Meanwhile, Vinzons and Paracale both have 17, Sta. Elena with 10, Capalonga with 9, and San Vicente and San Lorenzo has 5 each.
Overall, the province now has 257 deaths or a 5.92% mortality rate in the collective confirmed cases.
The province now intensifies vaccination among vulnerable sectors like senior citizens and individuals with co-morbidities who is more prone to severe type of the virus.
Meanwhile, according to the Provincial Covid-19 Vaccination Operation Center, the percentage of vaccinated senior citizens still hasn’t reached 80%.
In the 46,754 target population, only 35,382 senior citizens were only vaccinated or equivalent to 75.7% only.
