DPWH CNDEO AND DISTRICT ENGINEER’S LEAGUE DELIVER LEARNER’S SCHOOL NEEDS TO REMOTE AREAS

Close to 400 learners from four schools located in remote villages of Camarines Norte’s 1st District were the pre-selected beneficiaries of District Engineer’s League of the Philippines (DELP) Bicol’s flagship project, thru the DPWH Camarines Norte District Engineering Office, “Gamit Pang-Eskwela Handog ay Saya – Year 6” on Aug.30 to 31.

A highlight of the two-day activity was the distribution of school supplies, pertinent hygiene kit, sacks of rice, disinfection of classrooms and bountiful snacks to the learners and students from the indigenous people (IPs) endemic to the province or more popularly known as the Manide tribe, considered as the oldest tribe in Bicol, of these schools: the IP dedicated school of Katutubo Elem. School in the mountainous area of Paracale; Malaya Integrated School in a far-flung portion of Labo town; and Osmeña Elem. School and Gawad Kalinga High School both in gold-rich Jose Panganiban.

“Salamat po nang napakarami sa DPWH at DELP sa mga biyayang inyong dala,” said an emotional Allan Terrazula, Katutubo Elem. School’s teacher-in-charge. “Ang mga bagay po na ito ay siguradong magiging kapakipakinabang para sa mga bata.”

District Engineer and DELP Bicol Region President Edwin Bermal, along with the DEO’s section chiefs, spearheaded the preparation and on-day operation of the activities upon proper coordination with the school officials involved.
