The Provincial Health Office of Camarines Norte expressed its concern regarding possible COVID-19 surge due to various political rallies this campaign period.
According to Dr. Arnel Francisco, Provincial Health Officer, although it has been quite awhile since the province has recorded new corona virus case, it doesn’t guarantee that there will be no new cases to be recorded again.
Dr. Francisco also said that there is no problem in doing gatherings like political rallies, but it needs to still follow standard health protocols like social distancing. He added that he noticed and it’s evident that social distancing is not being practiced and most attendees in the rallies are not wearing face masks.
This is one of the reasons why the Department of Health and PHO urges everyone to get their vaccines against COVID-19 for their individual protection.
